The knowledge and the confidence I gained through your “Retirement Strategies for Baby Boomers” course, have made a huge difference both to me and to my family.
Although I have always tried to be as financially responsible and as careful as I could, I did not have a real handle on what retirement would actually mean. The gaping unknown had begun to create a real fear factor for me by the time I’d neared 60. As retirement is not a phase of life that we can apply our previous working experience to understanding, your well-structured course was actually a welcome revelation and a life-changing experience.
I was so grateful, firstly, that you treated us all as intelligent people, capable of grasping the technical investment terminology and lingo, as well as the rules of economics that affect investment options. I still review the valuable print materials that you provided, in support of these discussions. You were excellent at getting us to articulate our retirement goals, explaining the level of government-lead structures that would be on offer, and putting the complexities into manageable/easily understood sound-bites. Finally, you enabled us to align our newfound understanding with the possibilities for our ongoing financial management.
I no longer feel as though I am shooting into the dark and simply hoping for the best. Now, I know that I can manage my finances and remain able to continue managing after leaving the workforce.
My ability to articulate ‘my personal retirement strategy’ with assurance, has also made a huge difference to my children. I hadn’t realised how concerned they were that my well-being was secure into the future. They have told me that now, they too, feel a great sense of confidence about my future financial security. I know that this brings them peace of mind, just as it brings me a comforting sense of confidence that “I have this.” Gratefully,
